Dr. Sokoloff has been practicing medicine in Wilmington, Delaware, since 1986. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia and board certified in Internal Medicine and Forensics, Dr. Sokoloff is one of the most accredited physicians in the Wilmington area. High cholesterol, as you probably know, is an important risk factor for heart disease (but not the only one). The good news is that there are successful ways to treat this illness. Back in September, we wrote about [what a holistic doctor does that a general practitioner doesn't do](https://wellness.totalaccessmedical.com/blog/what-does-a-holistic-doctor-do-that-a-general-practitioner-doesn%E2%80%99t). This big difference is this: western medicine, which your GP falls under, treats the disease, while holistic medicine treats the whole person. 

That's the admittedly oversimplified explanation, which is why we thought we'd share some insightful words from [Dr. Daphne Goldberg](http://totalaccessmedical.com/dr-daphne-goldberg-md-abhm), since she practices both [holistic/integrative medicine](http://totalaccessmedical.com/specialities/holistic-medicine-philadelphia/) and [family medicine](http://totalaccessmedical.com/specialities/family-medicine/).
