How Your Concierge Doctor Helps Simplify Vacation Planning

concierge-doctors-and-your-vacationWe've talked a lot about the many benefits concierge doctors provide their patients. One of these benefits has to do with vacation planning.

Because your concierge doctor has a significantly reduced patient caseload, he or she has the time to help you with your vacation plans—at least, the items dealing with your health and wellness (haggling with the airlines is still your job!).

Here's how your concierge doctor can help simplify your vacation planning.

1. Your concierge doctor can help you (and your family) fulfill any vaccination requirements.

If you're traveling to a foreign country, consult with your concierge doctor so that he or she can guide you on—and administer—any required vaccines.

2. Your concierge doctor can help coordinate any planned care you'll need out of state (or out of country).

If you or someone in your family has complicated health issues, it's nice to know your concierge doctor can help coordinate your care.

This is especially important for "snowbirds"—those seniors who spend the winter months in warmer climates, like Florida. A concierge doctor specializing in geriatrics can work one-on-one with your physicians down south. This reduces redundancies and unnecessary treatments and procedures.

3. Your concierge doctor can make sure you have the prescriptions you need.

In addition to whatever prescriptions your concierge doctor prescribes, your doctor can also coordinate with any other specialists you see regarding any prescriptions you might need. Essentially, your concierge doctor serves as your main point of contact for all of your medical care.

4. Your concierge doctor is reachable via phone, email, and text—even while you're on vacation.

Just because you're out of state or out of the country, you can still contact your concierge doctor (and get a response). Plus, if you have last-minute questions before you leave, you can rest assured that your doctor will get back to you because he or she will know it's a priority since you're heading out on the road.

Wishing you and your family safe travels this summer!
