Finally we are in a down turn on influenza for our region! Reported cases and hospitalizations are both decreasing.
That is the question. With flu season supposedly nearing its down turn, it seems like there has been an outburst in the number of house holds and people infected and exposed to the flu this last week in our Philadelphia region.
This season is seeing the highest Influenza like Illness (ILI) since the 2009 H1N1 Flu pandemic.
There have been over 98 severe cases of the Flue reported and 7 deaths in our area. 78% of hospitalizations were for Influenza A. 6 Influenza outbreaks have occurred at long term living facilities.
